Dashing through the snow on a one-horse open sleigh, over the fields we go, laughing all the way… OOPS, not quite, at least not the “snow” or “sleigh” parts. The Civic Association Judges did travel throughout the community looking at and discussing all the entries in this year’s home decorating contest.

The judges caravanned about Citrus Springs and looked carefully at each of the eleven registered homes. It was a very cool evening, however, the judges went about their jobs with smiles and laughter boosted by the spirit and joy of the season.

Once all the homes were visited a meeting was held and the top four winners were chosen.

The 2017 winners are;

First place, Albert and Lynne Morneault, 7065 N Tallwood Dr.

Second place, Roy and Charlotte Marler, 10936 N Airway Loop

Third place, Richard Giusti, 10345 N Abby Dr.

Fourth place, Kipp Ramsey, 9338 N Citrus Springs Blvd.

The Citrus Springs Christmas Parade and Celebration Party was a great success. We could not have asked for a more delightful day with our picturesque blue skies and bountiful sunshine. Thousands of people of all ages were treated to one of our largest Christmas parades ever as it marched from our famous Fountain along the tree-lined Boulevard and culminating at Wesley Jones Park. A large Celebration party awaited the parade participants and the general public, featuring live music, many things for children to do and of course a visit from a rotund and cheerful Santa. Food vendors were plentiful to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. What a perfect way for families and friends to spend a day together in our community.
