Our Recycling Project
Recycling Etiquette
Please rinse out all containers before recycling. This reduces the bee population and controls odors.
Plastic containers should be crushed (step on them) or compressed to save space. You must remove the caps to do this and caps belong in your regular garbage. They are not recyclable.
Aluminum and steel cans also should be flattened. Step on the aluminum and take both ends off the steel cans and step on them.
Pasteboard boxes are recyclable. They are to be flattened or cut into pieces and tied. They may be placed in the rear of the newspaper bins. Other types of boxes such as cereal, pop cases etc. are not recyclable and should not be placed in the bins.
If you find that the bins are full, please do not place your materials on the ground. Take them home and return later. It is not fair that your neighbors must clean up your mess. Newspapers dropped on the ground blow all over the community. If we get rain, they become pulp and are not acceptable.
In the event that the bins are full and you wish to report it, please call the County Solid Waste Division at 489-2120 and ask for Recycling.
